About Us

Our Creed | Our Directors | Our Performers

Promoting our Judeo-Christian heritage through the fine arts-music, drama, dance, visual and literary. Sustained by volunteers from diverse Christian traditions who, drawing from a rich and beautiful Christian artistic heritage, perform in Springfield and throughout the world.

Messiah Project, a USA federally registered not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) fine arts organization, was originally founded as a supporting organization for the 1992 production of Handel's Messiah, performed with drama and dance.

Since that time, Messiah Project has continued to integrate the arts through a variety of means.  Since 1996, Messiah Project has sponsored many missions into Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Israel, and Asia, in some 17 different nations and 50 cities. The New Dimensions concert series, performed both locally and throughout Europe and Asia, blends the talent of Steinway Artist Larry Dalton with orchestras and dance, emphasizing fine worship hymns and chorus performed in a classical style. Orchestras from Poland and  Latvia have been invited to perform and tour in the United States almost annually for several years. Thousands of people around the Midwest have been touched through a variety of performances such as community-based Holiday Prelude Festivals, special works such as Beethoven's Mass in C, Puccini's Messa De Gloria, Clara's Gift, the Vivaldi Gloria, and concerts featuring a variety of musical and artistic works.

Since 1999, Saviour has thrilled audiences and participants alike in Poland, Austria, Thailand, China, Japan. Greece, Bulgaria and Russia. This "modern oratorio" tells the story of God's plan from Genesis through today, beautifully portrayed through classical ballet.

In 2002, Messiah Live, the original production for Messiah Project was reintroduced using a modern dance approach and completely new drama.

For several years, Messiah Project has annually brought a fine production free to literally thousands of area students.

In addition, we have been responsible for the public display of several free-standing nativity scenes, sculpture pieces, and a large-scale painted mural in the city of Springfield, all created by area visual artists.

Through all of the performances, displays of artwork, and mission trips, we have seen artists and other participants from every denomination join together in a unity of the spirit to bring our gifts before the Giver and to celebrate as one Body before the Lord. As we encourage each other with the gifts God has given us, we are vessels of His grace and glory. And as we rejoice corporately in public arenas, others are reminded of our rich spiritual heritage.
