Messiah Project’s
goal is to bring to Springfield a special night of praise and worship
through the arts. Nearly 40 artists both instrumental, vocal, and
dancers are joining their hearts and talents to exalt our Lord in what
will be an engaging time of worship. The styles of music will be
varied with both classical, soulful, and popular. Beautiful melodies
will inspire and thrill audiences as the music fills the hall and the
dance completes the performance with gracious visual artistry.
Larry Dalton
Steinway artist and president of Ars Musica Christiana, Inc., Larry
Dalton brings an exciting dimension to the performances. Not only is
Mr. Dalton an accomplished pianist, but he also excels as an arranger
and composer. His musical selections range from special jazz
treatments of Bach melodies to orchestral arrangements of Mozart to
arrangements of sacred contemporary works and familiar hymns. He is
both an ASCAP writer and a member of the National Academy of Recording
Arts and Sciences. Recording with the London Philharmonic, Mr.
Dalton has produced several outstanding CD’s, including the
award-winning “Glorious Praise” and “Praise Magnificat.” Mr. Dalton
is a splendid artist with a testimony and candor that appeals to every
audience.
Ballet Excelsior
of Houston
Established
in 2002 by Liza Pollok, to present the Christian message of
inspiration and hope, through the language of dance, with a
professional Christian ballet company. The company consists of full
company, apprentice and trainee dancers, and occasionally employs
project dancers. Ballet Excelsior is the STC's performing arts
troupe. Ballet Excelsior also provides employment for Christian
performing artists and works with the STC Department of Higher
Education to provide valuable dancing apprenticeships and experience
for its students.
Messiah Project
The
sponsoring organization, Messiah Project, is a Christian Arts
Organization dedicated to promoting our Judeo-Christian heritage
through the visual and performing arts. Founded in 1990 by Lindsey
Robison, the organization produces two annual performances in the home
city of Springfield, Missouri, along with visual and literary art
showings. “Messiah Live,” a unique production of Handel’s Messiah
with dance and drama was its initial performance in 1992. Messiah
Project, USA, also continues to believe in the value of the
organization’s international outreach. As a result, multiple
performance tours to over 23 different nations and 60 cities in Europe
and Asia have been launched since 1995. More information about the
organization is available on the Web at
www.messiahproject.org.
